What does it mean to fall into sin?

Updated: Jul 12

To fall into sin means we allow ourselves to be taken over by our temptations. When we ignore the promptings of our conscience or the Holy- Spirit and do the things that go against God. God's spirit always warns us through our conscience against the dangers of sin but it's up to us to listen or ignore Him.

what does it mean to fall into sin

When we fall into sin - it also means to be weak to the things of the flesh. We become slaves to the sinful things that we think are pleasing to our eyes and our flesh.

In my book, “The Path of the Chosen Warriors,” the people of Sodom Shadows fell into sin and became slaves to the demon god of the sea, Abaddon, because of greed and rebellion. They wanted to live a life free of God's laws which they thought were too restricted, so they left their previous home town of Shiloh City, to start their own town. Only they did not know that what they chased after put them in bondage.

The devil knows the evil that resided inside of us, and so does God; after all, He created us. I learned this a while back in my church that when we find we are drawn to sinful desires, even if it was something we never thought of before (read James 1, it teaches on that) it is what the devil wants to use to pull you into sin. However, what many don’t know is that it is God who is opening our eyes to recognize the evil seed that is within us so that we can start to pray against it and expel it from our lives before the devil uses it to control us, and we end up saying how could God allow this to happen.

We are all born with good and evil desires, like the Bible, said, ‘the wheat and tare grow together until the day of harvest.’ We need to learn to take notice when the Lord is showing us evil seeds, which are planted within us so that we can use the authority He has given us to break free from such wicked influences and be able to fulfill what we are called to do. (Luke 10;19)

What does it mean to fall into sin

God had to send the children of Israel the Ten Commandments (found in Exodus 20) to show them what sin was, in order for them to walk in His righteousness and not fall into darkness and become controlled by darkness, which is ruled by Satan. I know that not everyone who reads my posts will be Christians, so I am including Galatians 5:19-21, which gives you a list of some of the things that are works of the flesh—or seeds that the devil uses to keep us in bondage/darkness.

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Do we commit a sin when we are faced with temptations?

This all depends on how strong you are to that temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (NIV)

Temptation comes to us all and God allows it to teach us self-control, which is one of the fruits of the Holy- Spirit which every Christian should possess. (Galatians 5:22-23)

What does it mean to fall into sin

Most people that overcome their temptations are those who know the consequences of what that temptation brings and determine in their minds that they don't want that to come their way. Sometimes even with this knowledge we still fail. However this does not mean it's because God doesn't provide way out but because other spiritual matters are involved that you aren't aware of.

Back in 2019 I discovered why even with God showing me a way out why I would still fell to a temptation that kept coming and going. It was what we call an evil altar. This is when you keep doing something sinful. In the spirit realm it creates an altar that attract demons, the same way when you spend time with the Lord you create an holy altar where you invite the presence of God to commune with you. Even if you pray and repent against the act you did, if you don't destroy that altar- it's what will cause you to keep going back to that sin even years after you stopped. You can check out the post I wrote how I dealt with that sin and destroyed those altar and also learn a bit more about altars. Click here.

If you read my first book, Predestined Love you learn about Maria’s past and why she turned from it and allowed God to direct her. Maria’s life is a reflection of mine, and while I was living like that, I could not recognize the promptings of God to see my weaknesses, to even pray against them, before the devil began to reel me in. It was years after I repented and started giving more to God that I began growing and understanding more of the ways He shows us these things. It makes me so thankful to have God watching over me that way, to alert me against the devil’s trickery.

God is Good, even when it seems hard, stand firm. Some time ago, when I was feeling down, the Lord let me see the image of himself walking on water- reminding me to keep my eyes on Him and I am doing that.

So I have two questions for you:

1. How many of you through desiring the easy way to prosper have now found that it would have been better if you had taken the time to build a good foundation with patience, perseverance and a little faith that you can make it?

2. Did this post give you some awareness in recognizing God’s prompting when it comes to things that can cause us to fall?
